Nigerian Breweries Flags Off Teacher of the Year Competition 2023

The Nigerian Breweries PLC has officially flagged Off the annual Maltina Teacher of the Year Competition.

Being the 9th edition, the company explained that it is targeting the progress and further development of the education sector which in turn reflects on the nation at large.

According to the representative of Air Peace, the airline partner for the competition, Stanley Olisa the program is majorly to invest in teachers nationwide.

He reiterated that such activities motivate teachers to expend more excellence “which goes ahead to boost the teacher’s impact on students better and then aids them to become well-grounded personalities. It is personalities that build the society.”

Representing another partner, Stanbic IBTC, Nnenna Oguru, added that it is an initiative that celebrates teachers, stating that upholding teachers via such tools like this competition, they are gingered to give their best.

The Nigerian Brewery officially opened the competition registration portal, today the 25th, of May 2023 where the forms are filled to be submitted via email to

Nigerian Breweries emphasizes that the criteria for scoring are universal, and the best teacher will win. They explained the competition is open to both Private and public schools adding that as many as are interested can register for the next 8 weeks. Entry closes on 21st, July 2023.

The winners as stated by the team are to Win N500,000 each as State Champions, 2nd runner up N1,250,000, 1st runner up N1,500,000 while the overall winner gets 6,500,000 in addition to capacity development Training and a fully equipped block of classrooms or computer laboratory.
