Nigeria’s richest cement tycoon, Alhaji Aliko Dangote, remains Africa’s richest man, according to Forbes magazine as he remains listed on the continent’s 18 richest people list.

For the 10th time in a row, Dangote continues to be the leading investor in Africa, with a net worth of $ 12.1 billion and an increase of $ 2 billion over last year due to rising cement value.

The second richest man in Africa is Nassef Sawiris of Egypt, who owns shares in sportswear company Adidas.

South African Nicky Oppenheimer is the third richest African diamond trader.

There are two Nigerians in the list of Africa’s 10 richest people, with Glo CEO, Mike Adenuga in fifth place and Abdulsamad Rabiu of BUA in sixth.

Forbes magazine estimates that Africa’s 18 richest people are worth $ 4.1 billion, up 12 percent from last year.

Hardship: No free beer parlour anymore, work hard, be patient – Tinubu to Nigerians

President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has told Nigerians that there is no free beer parlour anymore.

He said the people must work hard, focusing on agriculture and should be patient with the government.

Tinubu said his administration was in the process of retooling and rebuilding the country’s economy and should be given the time to achieve this.

Tinubu made this known when the Forum of Former Presiding Officers of the National Assembly, led by former Senate President Ken Nnamani, paid him a visit in Abuja.

“People say we’re hungry; yes, I understand that. We don’t want to keep the people hungry and angry, but we say be patient— we must work hard. There is no free beer parlour anymore. We’ll retool and rebuild Nigeria’s economy,” said President Tinubu.

The President is saying this at a time Nigerians grapple with economic hardship occasioned by the twin policies of fuel subsidy removal and Naira floating.

Teniola Apata aka “Teni”

Dropping a whopping 75kg, singer Teni had shocked many when she debuted a smaller frame in in January 2023.

On how she achieved this, the ‘Uyo Meyo’ crooner attributed her drastic weight loss to a healthy lifestyle.

“I feel good. And do you know, imagine going for dinners and paying for everybody’s food and you can’t eat what they are eating… Because I’m dieting,” she said at that time.

In an interview with City People Magazine in December 2021, Badmus revealed that she had so far lost a total of 33kg in a few months by sticking to healthier habits.

“What I can say is, it got to a point where I could not control what I eat anymore.

“I began my weight loss journey about four years ago and I have not stopped. I stayed away from eba for three years and I missed eating good food.

And it ended in a very bad way, in social media, the noise was everywhere. I was actually filming and somebody called me and told me, I wanted to die!

“You know I cried, lost some good deals then. But I didn’t let it break me.”

“As a young lady out there, do not be pressured to get married. Get married because you want to get married, because you love him, and you want to spend the rest of your life with him. Don’t get married because mummy and daddy are saying get married or your friend just got married, have children because you want to have children, you want to be blessed with children, you love children.

“Don’t have children because society will say “ah she’s barren ohh, 12 years 6 years e never marry” Ignore the gossip, ignore the naysayers, give them “sorry the middle finger, I don’t care”. Yes, ignore because you have your life, do what makes you happy.”
