The Minister of Defence, General Christopher Gwabin Musa (Rtd) has reaffirmed the Federal Government’s commitment to transforming the Nigerian Army University Biu (NAUB) into a premier institution for specialised military and civilian capacity building.

The minister made this known when he received a delegation of the University’s Governing Council at the Ministry’s Headquarters in Abuja.

General Musa, while assuring the management of sustained strategic support, noted that NAUB remains critical to equipping personnel with the technical and operational expertise required to defeat complex contemporary security challenges.
To bridge specialised skill gaps across the national security landscape, General Musa disclosed that the Ministry of Defence will collaborate directly with the Armed Forces of Nigeria to fully utilize the 30% admission quota allocated to military personnel.

He said “As the Federal Government pushes for a highly skilled workforce in this digital era, we must encourage members of the Armed Forces, ministry staff, and the general public to leverage the cutting-edge technological and academic solutions available at NAUB,”.

The  high point of the meeting according to the Special Assistant on media to the minister Leah Katanga Babatunde, was a joint commitment between the Minister and the Governing Council to urgently address campus infrastructural needs. Key among these planned developments is the construction of a state-of-the-art Centre for Military Performance Management; a landmark project that will be the first of its kind in Africa.
