Eid-el-Kabir: Oluyede Felicitates Muslims, Seeks Prayers for Ekiti Election

The governorship candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Dr. Wole Oluyede, has felicitated with Muslim faithful on the occasion of this year’s Eid-el-Kabir celebration, urging them to reflect on the teachings of Islam as exemplified by Prophet Muhammad.
Oluyede made this known in a statement issued by his Special Adviser on Media, Gani Salau, and made available to journalists in Ado Ekiti.
He described this year’s celebration as unique and called on Muslim faithful to pray for a peaceful governorship election in Ekiti State.
“I felicitate with you today on this remarkable annual celebration. I beseech you to place Ekiti State before Almighty God so that we can have a peaceful election and a smooth transition of government,” he said.
Oluyede noted that although he had commenced his campaign tour across the 16 local government areas of the state last week, he decided to suspend the exercise temporarily in honour of the Salah celebration.
“As you can see, I started my campaign across the 16 local governments last week, interacting with the people.
However, upon realising that today marks the Salah celebration, I decided to shift the campaign till Monday next week to allow my Muslim faithful to celebrate with their loved ones. This is a demonstration of solidarity and sharing in your joy,” he added.
The PDP governorship hopeful expressed his readiness to give Ekiti State the desired facelift and chart a new course for the development of the state in a way that all residents would be proud of.
He also urged the electorate to vote for him and the PDP in the forthcoming election in order to rescue the state from epileptic power supply, insecurity, poor infrastructure, and what he described as bad governance.
