Buhari took to his personal Twitter account to inform the ladies that he watched how they got their Women’s World Cup campaign back on track with a 2-0 victory over South Korea on Wednesday .
He lauded the team and coaching crew for the “well-deserved win” in honour of the country “on a very special day”, and further said he was “proud of them”.
“I’m pleased I was able to watch the Super Falcons match against South Korea, after the Democracy Day Lunch. Congratulations to the Team and Coaching Crew. A well-deserved win on a very special day for Nigeria. We are all proud of your victory,” Buhari wrote.
Having secured 3 points, the nine-time African champions will now look to get something from the final fixture in group A against France, the host, on June 17.
A draw or win will see the Falcons through to the knock-out stage at the World Cup.
