Buhari Signs 2019 Budget, 48-Hour To Inauguration

Less than 48 hours to inauguration, President Muhammadu Buhari, on Monday, signed into law the 2019 Appropriation Bill.

The President’s assent officially makes the bill become law and signals the commencement of the 2019 fiscal budget.

Minister of Budget and National Planning, Senator Udo Udoma had earlier sent out invitations for the event.

The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Yakubu Dogara; the Chairman of the Senate Committee on Appropriation, Danjuma Goje; the Minister of Budget and National Planning, Udoma Udo-Udoma; and the Senior Special Assistant to the President on National Assembly Matters, Ita Enang were present during the ceremony.

However, this is the first time the president of Nigeria is signing budget few hours before the inauguration of administration.
