Over 400 hundred students from Ikole and Oye Local Governments areas of Ekiti state have been given free Joint Admissions And Matriculation Board (JAMB) forms as part of efforts to ensure no students in the local government suffer educational bias.
According to the donor, Yemi Ayeni, the effort is geared towards ensuring most students in the public secondary schools in the listed local governments are given the right educational standing to compete favorably with others.
In his words, Ayeni said ” This actually is not the first time. I have been paying tuition in higher institutions for students and will like to incorporate some of these applicants into the system. As a secondary school student , I knew what poverty was. I trekked from Ekiti Parapo College Ido ekiti as a labourer when I couldn’t raise money for my JAMB form. I sense these students may be having worst experience today due to the economic hardship. Hence, the motivation for this”
Ayeni said he is committed to making life better for his generation particularly the students who are leaders of tomorrow.

For over a decade, Ayeni said he had been paying school fees for many indigents students of the local government and his commitment to do more in the coming days is not in doubt.
He called on Ekiti states government to do more and salvage the dwindling educational standards in the state.
” While I agree the economy is not looking good globally, I still believe the state government can invent substantial amount of money in the educational sector for posterity sake. To all our friends and well meaning citizens, let us see Ekiti as our project and help these students. Our state future lies largely on the investments we make in this direction” Ayeni said.
