Seek Forgiveness, Not Votes In 2023, Lawan Tells PDP

President of the Senate, Ahmad Lawan, has said that the Peoples Democratic Party(PDP) should rather go round Nigeria between now and the 2023 polls to ask for forgiveness over past failures and not ask Nigerians for votes.

According to Lawan, the 16 years of PDP in power created so much damage that would require them to seek forgiveness from the people.

The Senate President said 2022 is a year of consolidation for the All Progressives Congress administration in the light of the legion of ongoing projects which would be commissioned during the year.

He spoke at Agasa in Okene Local Government Area of Kogi State at the commissioning of the Constituency projects of Senator Yakubu Oseni, who is representing Kogi Central Senatorial District at the Senate.

Lawan said: “Year 2022 is a year of consolidation for APC administration across Nigeria.

“Since the arrival of this administration in 2015, so much projects are ongoing across the country, including the Second Niger Bridge, which by the Grace of God will be completed this year and will be commissioned by Mr. President.

“There are so many road projects that are ongoing.

“So many infrastructural development projects….

“This year, by the Grace of God, we will complete these projects and President Muhammadu Buhari will go round the country either in person or virtually or in a representative capacity to commission these projects.

“So the best will be coming this year from the APC.

“Nobody should deceive anybody.

“When some people had 16 years, uninterrupted, they didn’t deliver.

“We have been around only for seven years, that is even less than half, and we have delivered more than they did in 16 years.

“I wouldn’t like to be too partisan, but I know that some people have failed Nigeria in 16 years of their stay in charge of government.

“If anything, what they need to do between now and when elections will hold is to go to every community in Nigeria and ask for forgiveness for their failure.

“Not to seek for votes.

“To ask for votes is to show complete lack of respect for Nigerians.

“The damage that was done in 16 years are still very much with us.

“We are still trying to work hard to ensure that we remedy the mess left for us to deal with.

“The administration of President Muhammadu Buhari is coming to an end by 2023.

“The administration would have been eight years and by the Grace of God we would have finished most of these legacy projects and another APC administration will come in 2023.

“This administration is doing everything possible to secure lives and property of Nigeria.

“It has not been an easy task….

“The security situation of this country will be far better by the Grace of God (before 2023).

“Our infrastructural development will have been far better and another APC administration will come and build on where Mr. President would have left.

“This is without prejudice to the election because what we have done in the National Assembly is to produce a very important Electoral Act, the amendment to 2010 Electoral Act, which Mr. President patriotically signed into law, and that is one law that will guide the general elections in 2023.

“So we are looking forward to a very improved, transparent elections in 2023. And of course APC will come out top.”

The Senate President showered praises on Oseni, who he said “distinguished himself as a team player” and for being “able to ensure that the activities of the Ninth Senate never stopped as far as he was concerned and involved”/

One of Oseni’s constituency projects commissioned on Thursday by Lawan was a 600 capacity JAMB CBT Centre at Agasa, the country home of the Kogi State Governor, Yahaya Bello.

Lawan seized the occasion to underscore the importance of the vonstituency projects.

He said: “When we fight for constituency projects to be funded in the National Assembly, we do so because of what we witness today.

“We go out to the remotest part of our community.

“We look for projects that will have very direct impact on the lives of the people that we represent.

“And that is important because, in effect, it is to complement the major projects that we fund in the Federal budget.

“So we will continue to ensure that constituency projects are always there to ensure that our communities, especially those that are so disadvantaged get access to government presence, government projects.”

Nigerians dominated the list of Africa’s Most Talked About People of 2024 by Top Charts Africa.

Nigerians occupied 18 spots in the top 30 recently released via the chart body’s website.

Nigerian singer, Wizkid, is number one on the list. Wizkid has been on the trend table year-round following his renewed beef with Davido and the release of his new album, ‘Morayo.’

President William Ruto of Kenya took the number 2 spot.

Ruto made global headlines in June when thousands of Kenyans took to the streets in protest of legislation increasing taxes. Following the storming of the Kenyan Parliament, President William Ruto reportedly rejected the Bill on 28 June and signed into law the “Appropriations Bill 2024” to address the budget shortfall caused by the rejection.

Nigerian afrobeats singer, Davido is ranked at number 3. Davido year-long trend climaxed with his much-publicised wedding to his wife, Chioma, in June, tagged ‘Chivido 2024.’

Nigeria’s President, Bola Ahmed Tinubu; President of Dangote Group, Aliko Dangote; former Prime minister of Kenya, Raila Odinga; controversial Nigerian crossdresser, Bobrisky; South African singer Tyla; Nigerian politician, Peter Obi, and South Adrian music star, Liema Pantsi, complete the top 10.

Baltasar Engonga, the controversial Equatoguinean former public official who became an Internet sensation after his intimate videos surfaced online also made the list.

Buhari, Northern cabal part of plot to unseat Tinubu, opposition not ready – Primate Ayodele

The Leader of INRI Evangelical Spiritual Church, Primate Elijah Ayodele, has alleged that former President Muhammadu Buhari is part of a plot to unseat President Bola Ahmed Tinubu ahead of 2027.

Primate Ayodele revealed that Buhari is being influenced by some Northern cabals who are determined to undermine Tinubu’s government.

He disclosed this during the release of his 95-page 2025 prophecies on Friday, December 20, 2024.

According to Primate Ayodele: “Former President Muhammadu Buhari is part of the plot to unseat President Tinubu in 2027. Although he is being dragged into it by Northern cabals, he will play a role. If Tinubu isn’t on alert, he will be shocked by those who would stand against him in 2027.”

Additionally, Primate Ayodele stated that opposition parties in Nigeria are not serious and have not demonstrated readiness to take the presidential seat in the country.

“Opposition parties are not yet ready to win elections in Nigeria. They are a bunch of unserious people who only want to make personal gains. If they are serious about winning in 2027, they need to form one strong coalition; otherwise, it will remain just a dream.”

Speaking further, Primate Ayodele noted that the former governor of Osun, Rauf Aregbesola, will make a major move in the state’s politics and that his movement could evolve into a political party.

“I still maintain that Rauf Aregbesola is a significant factor in Osun State politics. His movement will transform into a kind of political party. If the APC wants to win the state, they should work with Aregbesola; otherwise, they will fail,” he added.

The founder of Salvation Proclaimers Anointed Church, SPAC Nation, Tobi Adegboyega, has claimed that he will be more influential in Nigeria than in the UK.

His remarks follow the UK immigration upper tribunal’s approval of his deportation due to an alleged £1.87 million fraud charge.

Despite the ruling, Adegboyega vehemently denied the fraud allegations, calling them baseless and unsubstantiated.

In a preview of an upcoming Off The Record podcast episode, when asked if SPAC Nation was the only church facing such accusations, he emphasized the church’s success in the UK and Europe.

“We are the largest independent church in the UK and Europe right now,” he claimed.

He added, “If I am in Nigeria, I will be bigger than this, 10x maybe. If I am in Paris, I will be happier. It’s holiday for me. London will miss me, so you better tell them, we still need this guy, nobody is close to us entertaining us.”
