JUST IN: Appeal Court Overturns Judgement On Prophet Sotitobire
An Ondo State High court had in October 2020 sentenced Sotitobire to life imprisonment over the disappearance of a one- year-old boy, Gold Kolawole in his church in 2019.
The Appeal Court, Akure Division, has set aside the judgment of the Ondo state high court that sentenced Prophet Babatunde Alfa, popularly known as Prophet Sotitobire, the founder and director of the Sotitobire Miracle Church Praising Chapel.
An Ondo State High court had in October 2020 sentenced Sotitobire to life imprisonment over the disappearance of a one- year-old boy, Gold Kolawole in his church in 2019.
Ondo Missing Child: Prophet Alfa, Five Others Get Life Imprisonment
The cleric had asked the appeal court to nullify his life sentence conviction by the court.
The court ruled that the circumstantial evidence the high court based its judgement is not enough to convict him.
He was subsequently discharged and acquitted.
