Governor Darius Dickson Ishaku of Taraba State has lost the Taraba south senatorial election.

Ishaku, who contested last Saturday’s National Assembly election, was defeated by the candidate of the All Progressives Congress (APC).

The governor, it would be recalled, had also lost his polling unit to the Presidential candidate of the Labour Party (LP), Peter Obi.

Apart from failing to deliver his polling unit to the Presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Alhaji Abubakar Atiku, the APC also won his Takum council with a landslide victory.

Announcing the results, the returning officer for the Taraba south senatorial district election, Professor Solomon Adeyeye, said the APC candidate polled a total vote of 85415 to defeat the sitting governor who scored 45708.
