Internet fraud: EFCC arrests seven suspects in Edo

The Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) has arrested seven suspected internet fraudsters in Benin City, Edo State.

In a statement, the anti-graft commission disclosed that operatives of the Benin Zonal Directorate arrested the suspects on Tuesday, January 14.

The EFCC said the suspects were arrested based on credible intelligence on their alleged involvement in internet-related fraud.

“Items recovered from them include one Lexus car, laptops and phones.

“The suspects will be charged to court as soon as investigations are concluded,” the commission said.
