CEVA Logistics and EFL Africa have announced the formation of a joint venture in Nigeria, known as CEVA EFL Limited, in a move aimed at strengthening their presence in one of Africa’s largest logistics markets and expanding their reach across West Africa.

The companies said the partnership combines EFL Africa’s strong local expertise and operational capabilities with CEVA Logistics’ extensive global network spanning more than 170 countries. According to the firms, the new venture is designed to provide integrated and customer-focused logistics solutions that connect businesses in Nigeria and the wider West African region to global markets.

As part of its service offerings, CEVA EFL will provide consolidated and expedited logistics solutions, including dedicated barge operations for the movement of shipping containers from Lagos ports to Inland Container Depots (ICDs). The initiative is expected to reduce reliance on road transportation and shorten cargo transit times. The joint venture also operates 140,000 square metres of ICD facilities in Ikorodu and Apapa, including an Export Processing Terminal (EPT), while offering customs clearance services through an in-house licensed team.

The companies noted that the partnership is expected to contribute to the development of Nigeria’s logistics sector through knowledge transfer, enhanced operational efficiency and increased investment in logistics infrastructure. They added that the collaboration would support economic growth by improving trade connectivity and supply chain performance across the region.

Speaking on the development, Sylvain Kluba, Vice President of Finance IMEA at CEVA Logistics, described the joint venture as a major step in connecting Nigeria and West Africa to global markets. He said the combination of CEVA’s international logistics expertise and EFL’s local knowledge would enable the new company to deliver reliable and seamless solutions while creating opportunities for growth in the region.
