As the Muslim faithful celebrate Eid-el-fitri, the governorship candidate of the People’s Democratic Party (PDP) in Ekiti State, Hon. Bisi Kolawole, has urged Muslim faithful in the country, to continue to uphold the lessons of the Holy Month of Ramadan.
In his Eid-el-fitri message, Kolawole said; “Since it was during the month of Ramadan that the Almighty Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) sent down the Quran as a kind of mercy to humanity, our Muslim faithful should continue to honour the Holy month by making the Holy Quran their number one companion.”
He said; “On behalf of the PDP EKITI STATE and my leader, Dr. Ayo Fayose, I, Hon. Bisi Kolawole greet all Muslim faithfuls and indeed the people of Ekiti State on the conclusion of Ramadan and the celebration of eid.
“As Ramadan ends with today’s Eid-il-Fitri, I urge all Mumineen and Muminat to note that since the great Prophet of Islam, Muhammad (PBUH), described Ramadan fasting as a shield against vices, they should remain guided by that one month of total abstinence and keep away from those vices they abstained from during the fasting period.
The lessons of Ramadan as pointed out in the Holy Quran include discipline, self denial, holiness and charity, among others, as scriptural prescriptions for drawing mankind to Allah (SWT) the creator.
“May Allah (Subhanahu Wa Ta’ala) accept our Ibadah and preserve us to witness the next and many more Ramadan (Amina).”
Kolawole, who urged all Muslim faithful to continue to work and for the return of peace and progress to our land, said “although Ramadan may be over, the security and economic challenges besetting our country are not.
“In addition, in Ekiti, we need to take our destiny in our hands next month and also in the entire country in the few months ahead and banish bloodletting, incompetence, greed and impunity that have pervaded our country in the last eight years of the locust.
“May Allah return peace and progress to our land.
