Transfer: Emi Martínez close to Man Utd deal
Emi Martínez, Aston Villa’s goalkeeper, will join Manchester United on transfer deadline day.
The Argentine international has informed Aston Villa that he wants to join Manchester United.
Fabrizio Romano, a football transfer analyst, reported that the World Cup champion told his club about the decision on Monday.
The Argentina goalkeeper has already agreed personal terms with Ruben Amorim’s team.
“Clear message again after the game as personal terms are agreed with Manchester United,” he wrote on X
Many believe that the experienced World Cup winner would provide the solution for the Red Devils’ goalkeeper crisis.
The likes of Andre Onana and Altay Bayındır have failed to meet the expectations of the club’s supporters with costly errors every other week.
The Red Devils, who recorded their first win of the season, beating Burnley 3-2 in the Premier League on Saturday, are also in talks to sign Belgian goalkeeper, Senne Lammens from Pro League club Royal Antwerp.
