Three suspects in Benue Links passengers’ kidnap arrested in Benue

Three members of a five-man kidnapping gang who kidnapped Benue Links passengers in Otukpo Local Government Area (LGA) of Benue, last Thursday, have been arrested.
The Chairman of Otukpo LGA, Maxwell Ogiri confirmed the arrest saying they were part of a gang
that has been terrorizing Otukpo LGA and its surrounding communities.
Our correspondent reports that the arrest is coming four days after gunmen hijacked a fully loaded bus of Benue Links, the state transport Company, killed the driver and kidnaped the passengers.
He said the security forces chased and apprehended the three suspects on Sunday, April 6, 2025, in Ogoli-Ugboju, of Otukpo LGA.
The suspects were identified as Ibrahim Salleh, Ashimu and Abuh Umaru while efforts are ongoing to track down their remaining accomplices and local collaborators.
The Chairman said “We learnt from intelligence report that they are a gang of five kidnappers. Three have been apprehended. Security agents are going after the remaining two and their collaborators.”
When contacted, the police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) CSP Catherine Anene said operation is still ongoing in Otukpo
She said learnt that some suspects have been arrested.
