“SGF, Boss Mustapha, Minister Of Health, Osagie Ehanire, Tender Resignation Letter For Crass Ignorance”, By Favour Amako
The Secretary General Of The Federation And Chairman Presidential Taskforce For COVID-19, Boss Mustapha, said that he is not aware of the state of our hospitals until he was made to head the Covid-19 committee. That is a blunder!
Before I could recover from the unexpected shock, our able Minister of Health, Dr. Osagie Enanire, dropped another bombshell. He said he is not aware if Health workers treating Covid-19 patients are paid being hazard allowance. To add insult to injury, the Honourable Minister of Health said he does not see the need for Health workers to be paid hazard allowance.
For millions of Nigerians, Boss Mustapha and Dr Osagie Enahire should be forced to tender their resignation letters. Twitter is already on fire. For me, the “duo have tendered their resignation letters for gross ignorance.” In the court of pubic opinion.
Anyway, we may not blame SGF Boss Mustapha for saying the truth, he doesn’t know the state of health sector Since he doesn’t use it. His family doesn’t use it. Even when the media keep lamenting on the terrible state of our healthcare facilities, Mustapha in the confine of his Aso Rock office paid deaf ears. To him, the opposition and the wailing wailers are crying wolf where there is none. For the the Buharist, we are distracting the President.
Just like former Lagos State Governor and now a Minister, Babatude Fashola said sometime ago, that Nigerian roads are ‘not that bad as painted’. This shows a high level of negligence amongst our Nigerian politicians. I can tell you for free that some Nigeria Politicians have never visited any hospital in Nigeria.
The open confession of Boss Mustapha that he did not know Nigeria’s Health Infrastructure was in such a deplorable state until he was appointed to head the COVID-19 Presidential Task Force is an indication that All Nigerian Politicians are Medical Tourists, from time immemorial!!!
For the Health Minister, not being aware that the health workers are being paid hazard allowance, is annoying and outright display of crass ignorance. That shows that he does not have the welfare of his workers at heart.
Health workers have already pass a vote of no confidence on him. What next? Nigerians are watching.
