Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu, has inaugurated the newly completed Abule Egba Bus Terminal in the Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area, a project designed to improve mass transportation and connectivity within the state.

This was just as he announced a 30 per cent reduction in the fare price of the Red Line rail service.

The governor made this known in a statement on his verified X handle on Tuesday.

The statement noted that while speaking at the inauguration on Tuesday, Sanwo-Olu highlighted the importance of the terminal in easing mobility for residents in the area.

“Today, I commissioned the newly completed Abule Egba Bus Terminal in Orile-Agege Local Council Development Area (LCDA), which is designed to enhance seamless mass transportation from this suburb to other parts of our city,” he said.

The governor explained that the terminal is positioned close to the Lagos Red Line corridor, making it easier for passengers to transition between different modes of transportation.

“This strategic bus terminal, located near the Lagos Red Line corridor, provides a convenient route for passengers to board and exit buses and connect to other transportation options,” he stated.

Sanwo-Olu reiterated his administration’s commitment to modernising Lagos’ transport infrastructure to improve the daily commuting experience of residents.

“This project marks another significant milestone in my administration’s commitment to upgrading Lagos’ public transportation system with modern, sustainable infrastructure that meets the commuting needs of our citizens,” he noted.

He further emphasised the broader vision of his government to enhance urban mobility and economic growth through an integrated transport system.
