Manchester United legend Rio Ferdinand has said he is not rushing into talks that the Red Devils may come from nowhere to win the Premier League title this season.
The Englishman said he is staying calm and watching what happens in the next couple of weeks before reviving the title talks.
The Red Devils have not won the Premier League since Sir Alex Ferguson’s retirement in 2013.
But Erik ten Hag has guided the team into the top four where they are now just one point behind Manchester City who they defeated 2-1 at Old Trafford on Saturday.
Bruno Fernandes and Marcus Rashford fired the Red Devils to victory and Ferdinand wants to see a bit more from the team before labelling them as title contenders.
I’m staying calm and collected,’ he said when asked if he believed United could rival Arsenal and Man City for the title,” he told Vibe.
“Champions League football is looking much more positive for next season.
“Let’s see where the next couple of weeks take us and maybe then we can revisit the title talk.”
