The Redeemed Christian Church Of God(RCCG) has created a directorate of politics and governance to support its members who are ready and willing to join partisan politics.
In a letter signed by Pastor J F Odesola, the church leadership ordered its regional, provincial and local worship centres to create such offices in their domains and send names of its leaders two weeks from now.
According to the letter, Pastor Timothy Olaniyan (PICP Lagos Province 12) has been appointed to lead the office from the national office.
Efforts to reach the public relations manager of the church for comments on this failed as his mobile number was switched off.

It is not still clear if this move is part of the underground supports for the yet to be declared 2023 presidential ambition of the Vice president Yemi Osinbajo who is a prominent member of the church.
