President Buhari Sends Ministerial List To The Senate

In what could be described as the last minutes efforts to redeem his image, President Muhammadu Buhari has finally sent his list of ministerial nominees to the senate. 

In recent times, there has been an uproar about the ministerial list and the silence of the president on the issue.

Against his action during the first term when he appointed only 36 ministers — one per state — President Buhari, we learnt, has decided to also appoint one per geo-political zone, bringing the total to 42 Nigerians to be appointed.

The list was sent to the senate on Monday evening via executive communication and is expected to be read on the floor of the senate on Tuesday, gatekeeper.ng understands

The senate, which will be proceeding on a two-month recess on Thursday, is expected to screen the nominees. It will be recalled the senate had given few days for president make the list available for their screening.

Contrary to speculations, gatekeeper,ng gathers that only about 12 ministers will be re-appointed from the former cabinet.
