Reading and hearing reactions of officials of the Buhari led administration to the Transparency International corruption perceptions index 2019, it became obvious that this government is bereaved of intellectuals.
How can this administration effectively fight corruption if its interpretation of the basic concept of Transparency International Corruption perceptions index is wrong?

Transparency International corruption perceptions index is not about number of corruption related cases won in court or volume of looted fund recovered but the perception of citizens about corruption in public institutions.
Transparency International indexes mindset of citizens towards corruption. Do Nigerians trust the system? Has the Buhari administration changed the famous “man no man” perception of Nigerians? Do Nigerians trust our electoral process, the justice system or our security architecture? The answer is no.
How can we diversify the economy considering the importance of foreign investment if government simply wave aside Transparency International reports? How many foreign investors will stake their investments in a nation filled with corrupt minded citizens? No wonder our economy is saddled with foreign investors that are only interested in defrauding us as a nation.
