Police officers on rescue missions are your sons , husbands,pray for them– AIG Zone 10
Assistant Inspector- General(AIG) of Police, Zone 10 of the Nigeria Police Force,comprises of Sokoto, Kebbi and Zamfara States,, Mr Gyogon Grimah has Nigerians to be praying for the Police Officers who were invited for a rescue mission for their safe returns.
Grimah stated this while addressing stakeholders on his familiarization visit to the Police Command Headquarters, Birnin Kebbi.
The AIG who sought for the understanding of citizens to inculcate a new initiative to achieve safer society for all,noted that the nation would be better off if all Nigerians realized that Police are genuine friends of the people with their heart.
According to him, ” so, whether we like it on not, Police are your friends. And this friendship should not be from your mouths,let it be an in-depth. The man you invited to come over to clear a barricade,he is a somebody son, somebody husband, somebody uncle, and that somebody could be you.
“Are you inviting him without a lovely heart as somebody who is ready to service you or somebody whose lives doesn’t matter to you, that if he likes,let him come back alive,if he like,let him not come back ‘na him sabi’.
“I want to say that bringing out new initiative in doing the usual things could give us new results. If I may ask you, among us here,how many of us usually pray for those Police officers Invited to come over to rescue a situation and when they were on mission,we turn to God and pray for their safe returns?
“How many of us do pray for them? That is the new initiative I want us to introduce”, he said.
The AIG added that citizens should also know that not all the Police Officers are with the same character stressed that, many of them have good behaviors that without offering them money,they would pursue justice to the logical conclusion.
He commended the Kebbi State Government for providing necessary support to the State command and urged the officers to instill good relationship with all the security agencies in the state.
Earlier, the Commissioner of Police in the state, Alhaji Bello Sani, informed the AIG that there had been a cordial and harmonious working relationship between the state, the state Police Command, and state government as well as local governments.
This effort, he said, was making the state and local governments to confidence in the Police.
Sani appreciated Gov. Nasir Idris for support and assistance to security matters, saying his prompt responses to the police had shown the importance he attached to the issue of security and property of the good people of the state.
” The command has adopted various proactive strategies to curtail kidnapping, banditry and other heinous crimes by making the state and move secured for meaningful socio- economic development,” he said.
The commissioner assured the AIG that war against violent crimes in the state would continue ans the morale of the officers and men of the command remain very high.
” We pledge to maintain and sustain the tempo in the fight against kidnapping and banditry activities in the state,” he pledged.
