Ahead of the 2023 presidential election, the Labour Party presidential candidate, Peter Obi, has said that Nigeria’s implementation of fuel subsidy is shambolic and a scam.

Obi expressed his resolve to remove subsidies and improve critical economic sectors like power, healthcare and education.

Speaking on Arise TV morning programme on Wednesday, the politician said fuel subsidy is a a conduit pipe for politicians in Nigeria.

According to Obi, “…we cannot spend $40bn on subsidy and less than half on education & health.”

In recent times, Obi’s campaign has gather a wave on the social media among young Nigerians.

On his choice of vice presidential candidate, Obi said he is talks with many Nigerians and at the right time, he will unveil the best among all.
