Oba Sikuru Kayode Adetona: Awujale’s burial holds today
The remains of the Awujale and Paramount Ruler of Ijebu Ode, Oba Sikiru Kayode Adetona, will be laid to rest on Monday (today) at his Ogbagba Court, Igbeba residence, in Ijebu-Ode.
This was contained in a statement by the Secretary to the Ogun State Government, Mr. Tokunbo Talabi, on Monday in Abeokuta.
According to the statement, the burial will take place by 4:00 p.m.
Gatekeeper reports that the revered monarch joined his ancestors on Sunday, July 13, 2025, at the age of 91.
Until his demise, he served as the Awujale of the Ijebu Kingdom, a traditional state in Nigeria.
Talabi urged residents of the state to remember the family of the revered monarch in their prayers.
