Nigerian SMEs Fulfil 86% of Monthly Orders Through Apps – inDrive Study
A study by inDrive has revealed that Nigerian small and medium-sized businesses (SMBs) fulfil an average of 86 per cent of their monthly orders through apps, highlighting the growing reliance on digital platforms for deliveries.
The study, released on October 22, 2026, in Lagos, noted that businesses in sectors such as fashion, cosmetics, food and pharmaceuticals increasingly rely on digital delivery solutions to manage logistics and meet customer demands.
According to the report, inDrive is responding to the growing demand through its inDrive.Couriers service, which allows merchants to arrange same-day deliveries by motorcycle or car.
The service also enables business owners to propose their preferred delivery prices and select couriers based on their ratings and available transport options. It also provides real-time tracking, allowing merchants to monitor parcels from pickup to drop-off.
The Country Manager of inDrive Nigeria, Timothy Oladimeji, said the service gives businesses greater flexibility in managing delivery costs and timing without requiring lengthy contracts with logistics companies.
He added that the app’s features could help business owners coordinate orders more efficiently, spend less time following up on deliveries and focus more on sales and customer relationships.
“Small and medium-sized businesses need delivery solutions that are convenient, affordable, and flexible enough to meet their day-to-day needs,” Oladimeji said.
“With inDrive.Couriers, we are making it easier for businesses to arrange deliveries on their terms, manage costs and maintain visibility over their orders. Our goal is to give entrepreneurs more control over their delivery operations so they can focus on serving customers and growing their businesses,” he added.
The company said its courier service also provides free parcel coverage in Nigeria, with reimbursement of up to ₦50,000 per order if a parcel is lost or damaged in transit.
According to the company, the coverage applies automatically at no additional cost, offering businesses an additional layer of protection when sending goods to customers.
inDrive operates a mobility and urban services platform that offers ride-hailing, intercity transportation, delivery and financial services. The company said its app had been downloaded more than 400 million times and that it operated in 1,065 cities across 47 countries.
