Nigerian Breweries Plc has announced the appointment of Mrs. Nkechi Runsewe as the company’s new Human Resources Director, effective August 1, 2026. Runsewe joins the foremost brewing company from its parent company, HEINEKEN, and will succeed Mrs. Grace Omo-Lamai, who is set to retire on July 28, 2026, after nearly 10 years of service and leadership in the organisation’s human resources function.

The company said Runsewe would play a strategic role in driving the execution of Nigerian Breweries’ EverGreen 2030 strategy through organisational development, leadership enhancement, workforce capability building, and performance management systems aimed at sustaining growth and operational efficiency. Managing Director of Nigerian Breweries Plc, Thibaut Boidin, described her appointment as timely, noting that her experience in talent management and building high-performance cultures across different regions would support the company’s long-term ambitions.

Before her appointment, Runsewe served as Global Head of Talent Management at HEINEKEN, where she was credited with strengthening leadership pipelines, improving succession readiness and advancing performance and development frameworks across the company’s operating businesses. Since joining HEINEKEN in 2021, she has also served as Regional Talent Lead for the Africa, Middle East and Eastern Europe region. Her career spans several industries, with previous leadership roles at Etisalat, M-Net Africa and Diageo, covering business consulting, telecommunications, media, financial services and consumer goods.

Speaking on her appointment, Runsewe expressed optimism about joining Nigerian Breweries at a critical stage in its growth journey, pledging to deepen leadership capacity and strengthen the company’s talent pipeline. The company also paid tribute to the outgoing Human Resources Director, Grace Omo-Lamai, for her contributions to strengthening the organisation’s people agenda and workplace culture. Under her leadership, Nigerian Breweries earned several recognitions, including the Great Place To Work Silver recognition in 2021 and Top Employer Certification in Nigeria and Africa in 2026, alongside awards from professional and industry bodies.
