Nigeria @65: Nigeria still on right path – Speaker Abbas
The Speaker of the House of Representatives, Tajudeen Abbas, has congratulated Nigerians on the occasion of the nation’s 65th Independence Anniversary, urging the citizens to be hopeful of a bright future.
Abbas, in a congratulatory message on Tuesday, signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Leke Baiyewu, said Nigeria has come a long way through a chequered history, while the years ahead promise greater unity and prosperity for all.
The All Progressives Congress chieftain noted that though the country is blessed with vast human and material resources, the citizens must come together and contribute their part in taking Nigeria to greater heights.
“Nigeria remains on the right path with the ongoing implementation of the Renewed Hope Agenda of President Bola Tinubu. We remain the giant of Africa,” he said, stressing that Nigeria is fated to reclaim its position as the biggest economy on the African continent.
While urging Nigerians to remain undaunted by the security and socio-economic challenges, Abbas called for more prayers and patriotism as they remain law-abiding.
He assured Nigerians of the commitment of the 10th parliament to providing accountable leadership, good governance and dividends of democracy to the people, especially at the grassroots.
