Life imprisonment: Family meets Nnamdi Kanu, gives updates

The family of Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, leader of the proscribed Indigenous People of Biafra, has updated the public on his current state after the agitator was handed a life sentence.

The Biafra freedom fighter was on Thursday sentenced to life imprisonment after he was found guilty of terrorism-related charges.

There has been an uproar across the country since Justice James K. Omotosho of the Federal High Court, Abuja, delivered the judgement.

In a post on his official Facebook page, Kanu’s brother, Prince Emmanuel Kanu, said he met with the separatist after the judgement.

According to him, Kanu questioned the plausibility of the judge convicting “him under a repealed law, thereby invalidating all actions.”

He wrote, “Following my meeting with Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, I asked for his thoughts on the judgement of James K. Omotosho.

“His response was laughter, accompanied by a question regarding the plausibility of James K. Omotosho’s authority to convict him under a repealed law, thereby invalidating all actions.

“He highlighted the evident bias and frustration in the fabrication of non-existent evidence.

“He also inquired about the status of prior judgements that had exonerated him. At that point, I agreed with him. In conclusion, he says the judgement is a predetermined script.”
