The kidnappers of a Nollywood actress, Cynthia Okereke, have demanded for a $100,000 ransom to free her.
This development was confirmed by the President of the Actors Guild of Nigeria Emeka Rollas, on Saturday.
Rollas said the kidnappers had reached out to Okereke’s family for the ransom.
However, there has been no word on another actor, Clemson Cornel, aka Agbogidi, who was said to be with Okereke when they were kidnapped on Thursday.
Operatives of the Enugu State Police Command said the car in which the duo were riding had been found abandoned by the road side.
So also did Rollas inform that Okereke’s bank account had been emptied between when she was kidnapped and Saturday.
He said the Guild was working with relevant security agencies to ensure safe return, adding: “We are also working closely with the different security operatives, but we are not sure what to expect from them because the same thing is happening everywhere in the country.”
