I won Ballon d’Or award without social media – Rodri tells ex-Real Madrid striker

2024 Ballon d’Or winner, Rodri has revealed that he told former Real Madrid striker Alvaro Morata that he won the prestigious individual prize without social media.

Rodri just won this year’s Ballon d’Or, beating out top competitor Vinicius Junior.

The Spanish international received the most votes, ahead of the Brazilian international.

However, Rodri has now revealed what he told his fellow countryman Morata.

“Álvaro Morata always told me: You’re stupid. If you had social media you would have a Ballon d’Or,” Rodri said as quoted by Fabrizio Romano.

“And as soon as I won it… I wrote to him: ‘Look, Ballon d’Or in my hands and no social media!”.
