Hon. Prince Adenekan Azeez Resigns as NNPP Youth Leader in Obafemi/Owode, Appreciates Party Leaders
The Youth Leader of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Obafemi/Owode Local Government, Ogun State, Hon. Prince Adenekan Azeez Aribidesi, has officially resigned from his position and the party, citing personal reasons for his decision.
In a letter dated 11th November 2025 and addressed to the State Chairman of NNPP, Prince Azeez expressed appreciation to the party leadership at the state, local government, and ward levels for what he described as years of political growth and opportunity for service.
“I, Hon. Prince Adenekan Azeez Aribidesi, hereby formally tender my resignation as a member of the New Nigeria People’s Party (NNPP) in Ward 2, Obafemi Owode Constituency 1, and as the Youth Leader of the party in Obafemi/Owode Local Government with immediate effect,” he stated.
Prince Azeez, who contested as the Councillorship candidate under the NNPP platform during the 2024 Local Government Election, described his political journey within the party as memorable and fulfilling.
“I sincerely appreciate Almighty God and the entire Ogun State chapter of NNPP, especially the state, local, and ward executives, for the opportunity given to me over the past years to serve diligently at the local government level of our great party,” he said. “The NNPP gave me a platform to showcase my political dexterity and acumen when I contested as councillorship candidate. I remain grateful for that.”
While many political observers have begun to speculate about his next political move, Prince Azeez clarified that his decision to step down was strictly personal and not connected to any internal disagreement within the NNPP.
“My decision is purely personal and not related to any political feud or party structure,” he explained. “It is a decision taken after deep reflection and consultation with my supporters and loved ones.”
He further extended good wishes to the NNPP, expressing hope that the party continues to thrive in its pursuit of credible leadership and good governance.
“I wish NNPP all the very best in its future political endeavours,” he added.
Prince Azeez, a respected grassroots mobilizer and youth advocate in Ogun politics, is known for his active engagement in community development and youth empowerment initiatives across Obafemi/Owode Local Government. His resignation is seen by political watchers as a significant development within the local chapter of the NNPP ahead of the 2027 general elections.
As of press time, efforts to reach the Ogun State NNPP Chairman, Barrister Femi Aina, for official reaction were unsuccessful, but party sources hinted that consultations are ongoing to fill the leadership vacuum left by the youth leader’s exit.
