Gov. Soludo, Police React To Attack on Senator Ifeanyi Ubah
The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, and the Anambra State Police Command have reacted to the attack on the representative of Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
The Anambra State Governor, Prof. Charles Soludo, and the Anambra State Police Command have reacted to the attack on the representative of Anambra South Senatorial District, Senator Ifeanyi Ubah.
Recall that he was attacked on Sunday night in Enugwu Ukwu community, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state.
The incident, which took place in Enugwu Ukwu community, Njikoka Local Government Area of the state, claimed the lives of some members of his convoy, while Ubah himself narrowly escaped the bullets of the suspected assassins.
Spokesman of the Anambra State Police Command, DSP Tochukwu Ikenga, said in a statement: “The Commissioner of Police Anambra State Command CP Echeng Echeng has led operatives to the scene where sporadical shootings took place in Enugwu Ukwu.
“Though the details of the incident is still sketchy, operatives are on ground there as operations is going on and the situation is being monitored.
“Further details shall be communicated please.”
Soludo’s condemnation was contained in a statement by his Press Secretary, Christian Aburime.
The governor said his administration was fully determined to wipe out every act of criminality in the state.
He described the attack as the “last ditched-effort of a sinking boat” by criminal elements in the state.
He reassured the people that all security agencies were on full alert to fish out the perpetrators of the heinous attack who would be made to face the full wrath of the law.
Soludo commiserated with Ubah and families of his aides killed as well as the State Commissioner of Police, Echeng Echeng, for the policemen who also lost their lives.
