A geologist and security scholar, Dr Oludotun Adetunberu has commended the Ekiti State House of Assembly for constituting a committee of the house to investigate the unconfirmed claims of mischievous land’s acquisition for agricultural purpose in certain parts of Ekiti State.
Adetunberu, who was a member of the State delegation that carried out mineraological assessment of Ekiti State in 2007 during Engr Segun Oni’s transition period, advised the members of the House Committee to read through reports of mineral investigations that had been carried out in the past.
He said the state government should continue to engage Ekiti State University scholars in most of these assignments, to encourage town-gown relationship.
The geologist and security scholar equally advised that information should be sought from both the Department of Solid Minerals in Ekiti State and at the Federal Government level.
He advised that the Certificate of Occupancy, if issued already to the Companies be revoked and be stopped if under processing, pending the conclusion of all forms of investigation on the matter.
