Transfer: We want Osimhen to stay – Galatasaray’s VP insists

Galatasaray vice president İbrahim Hatipoğlu hopes Nigerian striker Victor Osimhen will stay at the club beyond the current season.
Osimhen, who joined Galatasaray on loan from Napoli last September, has been a sensation in the Super Lig, scoring 29 goals and providing five assists in 33 appearances across all competitions.
A permanent move to Galatasaray had seemed unlikely, but Hatipoğlu believes otherwise.
“There are always rumours about me, of course. But I prefer to live in the moment. I am enjoying myself right now. I am enjoying both the club and my life here,” Osimhen said last week.
In a recent statement, the club’s vice president confirmed Galatasaray’s interest in making Osimhen’s stay permanent.
“Osimhen’s words do not mean that he will leave,” Hatipoğlu said. “He said that Galatasaray will always be in his heart even if he leaves in the worst-case scenario, but he did not say that he would leave. We want him to stay with us.”
While Galatasaray is apparently eager to satisfy any financial and sporting criteria to keep him, the fact is that Osimhen is in great demand.
Whether he stays or not, Osimhen’s effect at Galatasaray is indisputable, and if he does go, he will be greeted with adoration by supporters.
