Victor Osimhen can’t hide his disappointment after Galatasaray threw away a two-goal lead to draw 3-3 with Dynamo Kiev in their UEFA Europa League encounter on Tuesday night.

Galatasaray led 3-1 with 22 minutes remaining on the clock but Dynamo Kiev struck twice through Andrii Yarmolenko to earn share of the spoils.

Osimhen scored Galatasaray’s second goal of the night from the penalty spot in the 53rd minute.

It was the 26-year-old’s fourth goal in the competition this season.

The Nigerian said afterwards the hosts deserved more from the keenly contested encounter.
“We are disappointed. We thought we deserved more. We need to take responsibility as a team. I think we all made mistakes. They also fought well and scored goals,” he told the club’s official website.

“There were two consecutive draws. Now we need to work and learn from our mistakes. We need to focus on the upcoming matches.”

“We need to understand each other better at certain moments. If I’m going strong, I look at who I can pass to and who I can receive the pass from. We could have scored more goals today. We need to learn from our mistakes and be better.”

EPL: Nunez brace against Brentford extends Liverpool’s lead

Published

Darwin Nunez scored twice in stoppage time to give Liverpool a 2-0 win over Brentford, giving them a seven-point lead in the Premier League after Bournemouth’s 4-1 win over Newcastle.

The Reds were about to drop points for the third time in a row until Nunez doubled his season goal tally in west London.

Nunez swept home Trent Alexander-Arnold’s cross before smashing in a second for a vital twist in the title race.

Liverpool had been wasteful in front of goal in a 1-1 draw at Nottingham Forest in midweek and Arne Slot’s men nearly let another two points slip away.

Dominik Szoboszlai smashed a shot off the bar and Cody Gakpo failed to hit the target with a glorious chance to open the scoring before half-time.

On a rare quiet day for Mohamed Salah, Slot was forced to turn to Nunez to make an impact off the bench and he duly delivered.

The 25-year-old had not scored in the league since November but was in the right place to finish after a neat one-two between Harvey Elliott and Alexander-Arnold.

The second was created by substitute Elliott, who fed Nunez to cut inside and smash past Mark Flekken.

Pep Guardiola’s decision to sign a new Manchester City contract led to the split from wife Cristina Serra, the UK Mirror reports.

In November 2024, Guardiola put pen to paper on a two-year deal with the Premier League.

And the 53-year-old’s decision was the final straw for his wife.

Earlier this week, news broke that Guardiola’s 30-year relationship with Cristina had hit the rocks.

The duo of well-respected showbiz reporters who call themselves the Mamarazzis, Lorena Vazquez and Laura Fa, said in a podcast broadcast today that Cristina, who returned to Barcelona in 2019 to focus on her business interests, had surprised those close to the couple by failing to return to Manchester to visit her husband as expected in September following the summer holidays.

It led to their friends fearing the couple’s relationship was nearing its end.

Lorena Vazquez and Laura Fa have also suggested that those close to the couple are still hoping they will enjoy a future reconciliation.

They said: “It could be that one day, when Pep leaves football, and if he returns to Barcelona, they could renew their relationship.”
