EPL: Three clubs eyeing Ten Hag if Man Utd sack him

At least three clubs will be in the race to land Erik ten Hag, if he is sacked by Manchester United at the end of the season.
Ten Hag is likely to be given until May to prove to new co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, that he is the right man to oversee a rebuild at Old Trafford.
Reports this week have linked current England manager Gareth Southgate with the United hot seat.
It is rumoured that Southgate will seek a new challenge after Euro 2024.
But for Ten Hag, he will not be short of suitors, according to the Daily Star.
The 54-year-old is believed to still have many admirers in the Bundesliga.
Ten Hag worked at Bayern Munich earlier in his career and the German giants could turn to him, should they fail to land No.1 target Xabi Alonso.
Bayer Leverkusen insists they remain confident the Spaniard will snub Bayern and another of his former clubs, Liverpool, but should he depart and a vacancy open up with the German champions-elect, Ten Hag would fit the bill, while Stuttgart are also said to be keen on the ex-Ajax boss.

2026 WCQ: Nigerians react to Super Eagles’ 1-1 draw with Zimbabwe

Some Nigerian football fans have expressed their displeasure over the national team’s performance against Zimbabwe in their 2026 FIFA World Cup qualifier, which ended in a 1-1 draw on Tuesday at the Godswill Akpabio Stadium in Uyo.
Gatekeeper reports that Victor Osimhen gave Eric Chelle’s side the lead in the 74th minute, but Zimbabwe equalised in the 90th minute, thanks to Tawanda Chirewa’s strike.
The result against the Warriors of Zimbabwe means the Super Eagles remain in fourth place in Group C, behind leaders South Africa, Benin Republic in second place, and Rwanda in third.
After the game, supporters took to their X accounts to share their thoughts on the match.
Here are some comments gathered by DAILY POST from X:
@temmy_israel: “Too many deadweights in this team! You will start winning when you get rid of the dead weights and bring in quality players.”
@gpsych01_joe: “This is on Akpabio, his sins affecting the team on his home soil. Why didn’t they change the venue when we are aware of his atrocities in recent times?”
@MrAlaboRoland: “You guys should remain at home and forget about the 2026 Fútbol Mundial.”
@RENDAN_1: “Shameless team! It has always been hype with little to show for it. #SuperEagles.”
@kgatlii: “Give Zim our 3 points from Lesotho @FIFAcom.”
@BlxckLipPastor: “You were counting yellow cards while Zimbabwe was busy training.”
@Bashir_Mamu: “How are we going to miss out on back-to-back WCs?”
@NNAYELUGO_M: “We aren’t qualifying for the World Cup. Let’s just work on qualifying for AFCON.”
@paskael: “Super Chickens can’t surprise me as usual.”

Late Zimbabwe equalizer dent Super Eagles World Cup hope

A last-minute goal from Tawanda Chirewa denied Nigeria victory as Zimbabwe secured a 1-1 draw in their Group C World Cup qualifier on Tuesday.
Victor Osimhen put Nigeria ahead in the 73rd minute with a well-placed header from Ola Aina’s cross.
The Super Eagles seemed to be on track for three points until Chirewa scored in the 90th minute, sneaking past defenders and toe-poking the ball under goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali.
Tolu Arokodare, who replaced Samuel Chukwueze in the 59th minute, was involved in the opener. He held up play before passing to Aina, whose precise delivery found Osimhen at the far post.
Nigeria had multiple opportunities to extend their lead. In the 83rd minute, Wilfred Ndidi missed a clear chance after being played in by Moses Simon, skewing his shot wide. Moments later, Osimhen was substituted due to cramp, with Victor Boniface coming on.
The result left Nigeria in third position in Group C, after Lesotho’s late equalizer against Rwanda denied the Super Eagles the opportunity to move up to second.
Nigeria’s next match will be a critical opportunity to recapture momentum as they continue their World Cup qualification campaign.
