EPL: Chelsea names replacement for sacked Rosenior

Chelsea have announced that Calum McFarlane will be the interim head coach for the first team until the end of the season.

This comes after the club decided to dismiss Liam Rosenior as head coach on Wednesday.

An official statement confirmed that McFarlane will take charge of the next game against Leeds in the FA Cup semi-final this weekend and continue for the rest of the season.

This suggests the club will look for a new permanent manager at Stamford Bridge in the summer.

The statement said: “Calum McFarlane will serve as interim head coach until the end of the season, with support from the existing club staff.
Our goal is to achieve European qualification and continue in the FA Cup.

“As we work towards stability in the head coach role, we will carry out a thorough review to make the right long-term appointment.”
