Eleka Condemns Isaba Ekiti killings, Urges Fayemi To Act Fast
Ekiti State Former deputy governor, Prof Olusola Eleka has condemned the recent and needless killings in Isaba Ekiti by Fulani herdsmen.
Ekiti State Former deputy governor, Prof Olusola Eleka has condemned the recent and needless killings in Isaba Ekiti by Fulani herdsmen.
In a statement by his media office, Prof Eleka described the killing as gruesome and unwarranted.
According to the PDP chieftain, the state government needs to do more in securing the state while security agencies leverage on technology to prevent crimes.
The statement reads in part:
” Like I have always reiterated, the security of our dear people in Ekiti state is important and should be taken seriously. Needless to affirm that security is the essence of a pro-active government.
” I thereby call on the Governor to act swiftly to the security challenges that is bedevilling our state and bring all culprits to book so as to serve as deterrent to others. “
” Furthermore, the current security mechanism in the state should be overhauled and be brought closer to the people. We cannot continue to mourn our loved ones or live in fear, enough is enough. “
However, the state government delegation led by governor, Kayode Fayemi was in Isaba Ekiti today to sight the scene while condoling with the people.
Fayemi retriated the commitment of his government to secure the state and its residents.
