EKSU Opens Admission into Part-Time Degree Programmes for 2026/2027 Session

Ekiti State University has officially commenced admission into its Directorate of Part-Time Programmes for the 2026/2027 academic session, offering fresh opportunities for working professionals, entrepreneurs, civil servants, and business owners seeking to further their education without leaving their jobs.

The university disclosed that applications are now open for various undergraduate, diploma conversion, and top-up degree programmes tailored for individuals seeking flexible academic advancement while balancing career and business commitments.

According to the admission notice released by the institution, available programmes include five-year degree programmes, four-year degree programmes for diploma holders, and two-year Top-Up/Conversion programmes for holders of Higher National Diploma (HND), B.Sc., and equivalent qualifications.

The institution noted that the programmes are specifically designed to accommodate individuals who may not have had the opportunity to pursue full-time university education earlier in life, as well as professionals seeking career progression through additional academic qualifications.

Available courses span several disciplines including Business Administration, Accounting, Finance, Entrepreneurship, Political Science, Public Administration, Sociology, Social Work, Mass Communication, Computer Science, Statistics, Economics, Psychology, International Relations, Industrial Relations and Personnel Management, Peace and Conflict Resolution, Tourism Studies, Geography and Planning Science, alongside science-related programmes under Science Laboratory Technology (SLT).

The university explained that applicants for the five-year programme are expected to possess five O’Level credit passes including English Language and Mathematics, in addition to three other relevant subjects. Candidates applying for the four-year and top-up programmes are also required to possess relevant diploma, HND, B.Sc., or equivalent qualifications obtained from recognized institutions.

Management of the university emphasized that the initiative aligns with efforts to expand access to quality tertiary education for Nigerians seeking to improve their educational qualifications without disrupting their sources of livelihood.

Interested candidates are required to create profiles and complete their applications through the university’s part-time admission portal. The application fee for the programme is ₦20,000.

Education stakeholders have continued to identify flexible learning programmes as an important pathway for workforce development, professional advancement, and increased access to tertiary education, particularly for adults managing work, family responsibilities, and academic aspirations simultaneously.
