Ekiti State government has named Akin Rotimi as the new communications adviser to the governor Kayode Fayemi.
Rotimi is taking over from Mrs Sola Salako-Ajulo, who resigned recently to take up an appointment as a member of the Federal Competition and Consumer Protection Tribunal, (representing the Southwest).
A renowned Communications Strategist, Rotimi possesses extensive experience in the private and public sectors. He had earlier served as Senior Special Assistant to the Governor on Strategic Communications during Governor Fayemi’s first term in office and was Special Adviser (Investment Promotions) to the Honourable Minister of Mines and Steel Development between 2015 and 2018.
According to the Chief Press Secretary to the governor, Yinka Oyebode, the appointment was effective from February 1, 2021.
Rotimi is the author of the book – ‘If Indeed This is the Will of the People: The June 21, 2014 Election in Ekiti State, Nigeria and its Immediate Aftermath’.
