Senator Biodun Olujimi representing Ekiti South senatorial district at the National Assembly has stated that her priority is to unite the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) ahead of the 2022 governorship race.
This was contained in a statement titled, ‘Ekiti 2022: Olujimi urges supporters to prioritize party’s interest,’ signed by her Special Assistant (Media), Sanya Atofarati.
Olujimi urged her supporters to focus on issues that would unite and strengthen the party ahead of the 2022 governorship and 2023 general elections.

The statement reads in part:
“It is, however, imperative to know that members of the Senator Olujimi team share the same ideology that for the sake of equity and fair play, the South Senatorial District should be given the privilege to represent the state in the next governorship race, having been marginalized since the creation of Ekiti State since 1996, 25years ago.
“We urge all groups and interests, particularly from the South Senatorial District to remain calm as the priority of Senator Olujimi currently is to unite the party and encourage others to remain united prior to, during, and until after the court judgment on the ward congresses.”
“Senator Biodun Olujimi has remained an advocate of “Ekiti First” project and as such, will not indulge in any act capable of dividing the party than uniting it.”
The lawmaker backed the agitation that the successor of Governor Kayode Fayemi should come from the southern part of Ekiti.
It would be recalled however, that there has been running battles between the senator and the former governor Ayodele Fayose on the control of the party’s structure in the state.
