Manchester City playmaker Kevin de Bruyne will miss the start of the new season after suffering a hamstring tear during the 1-0 win over Inter Milan in the Champions League final.
De Bruyne was forced off the pitch in the first half in Istanbul.
And it seems the Belgian’s injury was a serious one, as the Daily Star reports that he will not be fit in time for the new campaign.
De Bruyne is believed to have suffered a Grade 3 hamstring tear.
The injury will see him miss the Community Shield clash against Arsenal.
He is also set to miss City’s first Premier League game against Burnley at Turf Moor.
