Buhari’s congratulatory message negative for Morocco – Omokri
Reno Omokri, a former aide to ex-President Goodluck Jonathan and staunch supporter of the presidential candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party, Atiku Abubakar, has taken a swipe at the President, Major General Muhammadu Buhari(retd.), on the feat the Moroccan team has attained in the ongoing World football competition in Qatar.
Gatekeeper.ng had reported how Buhari congratulated the Moroccan football team, the Atlas Lions and the ruler of the country, King Mohammed, for making history in the tournament.
Buhari, through his media aide, Malam Garba Shehu, on Monday, in Abuja, commended Morocco for becoming the fourth team from an African country to ever qualify for the World Cup quarterfinals.
Omokri expressed his feelings in a tweet on Wednesday, saying the Morocco team might witness failure by the message from the president with a “negative spirit.”
The Atlas Lions are in a battle with the French National Team to secure a ticket in the finals against Argentina.
He wrote, “I feel for Morocco. There is something called a negative human spirit. Often, those who harbour it are not conscious of it. Buhari had no business congratulating Morocco. I really pray that he hasn’t infected them with his NHS. Buhari has the Midas Touch in reverse!”
