Republic of Ireland defender, Louise Quinn, had warned they wouldn’t lie low in their final group game against the Super Falcons of Nigeria.
The Girls in Green are already eliminated from the 2023 FIFA Women’s World Cup following defeats to co-hosts Australia and Canada.
Vera Pauw’s side put up a spirited display in their previous two games despite the disappointing outcome.
Quinn declared that the debutants want to finish the competition in style.
“We’ve shown against the two top sides in this group as well, Australia and Canada, that they’re going to have to beware of us in a lot of ways,” she told Sky Sports.
The Republic of Ireland will take on Nigeria at the Lang Park, Brisbane on Monday. Kick-off is 11am Nigeria time.
