BBNaija star, JMK called to Nigerian Bar

One year after graduating, Jumoke Zainab Adedoyin, better known by her stage as JMK, who appeared on the Big Brother Naija reality series, was called to the Nigerian Bar.

The ‘Shine Ya Eye’ housemate from BBNaija season 6 announced the good news in an Instagram post on Tuesday.

The reality TV actress posted pictures of herself wearing a black robe and wig and wrote that her most recent success is proof that she can become anything in life.

She wrote, “Being called to the Bar has just proven to me that I can become anything; I can be JMK the reality tv star, JMK the CEO, and now JMK the BARRISTER! A multifaceted Esq who sets her mind to anything and gets it done.

“This has proven that people’s timelines can’t tie me down, and everything happens within God’s perfect plan. He perfected it as He always does, and now I am confident I will only walk in the path He has created specially for me. believing in myself, there are no limitations in my mind, and the possibilities of what I am and can be are endless.”

Lagos State Governor, Babajide Sanwo-Olu has described the famous Nigerian songstress, Temilade Openiyi, a.k.a. Tems’ Grammy Awards victory as historic.

The governor in his congratulatory message on Monday afternoon, stated that Tems’ victory showcased her extraordinary talent and dedication.

Gatekeeper reports that Tems on Sunday night at the 67th Grammy Awards ceremony, won the Best African Music Performance award with her song ‘Love Me JeJe’.

Speaking in a post on his X handle, Sanwo-Olu wrote “I extend my heartfelt congratulations to Temilade Openiyi @temsbaby, for winning the Best African Music Performance at the 2025 Grammy Awards with her song ‘Love Me JeJe’.

“This historic achievement marks her as the first Nigerian artist to win in this category, showcasing her exceptional talent and dedication.

“I also commend our other Nigerian nominees, Burna Boy, Yemi Alade, Asake, Wizkid, and Davido for their outstanding contributions to music. Your artistry continues to elevate Nigeria’s presence on the global stage, and we are immensely proud of your accomplishments.”

Peter Obi congratulates Tems on Grammy win

The 2023 presidential candidate of the Labour Party, Peter Obi, has congratulated Nigerian singer, Tems, on her victory at the 67th annual Grammy Awards.

Gatekeeper reports that Tems’ ‘Love Me Jeje’ won the Best African Music Performance award over “Tomorrow” (Yemi Alade), “MMS” (Asake & Wizkid), “Sensational” (Chris Brown featuring Davido & Lojay), and “Higher” (Burna Boy), on Sunday.

Reacting in a statement shared via his X handle on Monday, Obi also celebrated the other Nigerian artists who were nominated in various categories despite missing out on the awards.

“I extend my hearty congratulations to our Nigerian Afrobeats star, Tems @temsbaby , who just secured her second Grammy Award with her win in the Best African Music Performance category.

“I also rejoice with Nigeria’s entertainment industry and other Nigerian artists who were nominated for different awards in their respective categories,” the statement partly read.

Obi reiterated that he’s committed to “building a nation that fosters growth among the youths and helps them discover and harness their individual talents for national productivity.”

Nigerian comedian, Basketmouth has finally responded to those asking him to comment on 2Face and Annie’s marital drama.

Gatekeeper reports that singer 2Face on Sunday evening, announced his separation from wife, Annie.

A development which has continued to generate intense reactions on social media, especially among celebrities.

However, speaking in a viral video on his Instagram page on Saturday, Basketmouth claimed he did not want to get involved in the conversation.

Addressing those questioning his silence over the issue, Basketmouth who had previously faced public scrutiny during his divorce in 2022, said he doesn’t want to be dragged.

“I have been receiving lots of emails and DMs from people asking me why I don’t want to get involved in Tuface and Annie’s matters? I have known 2Face for 27 years and I met Annie 24 years ago.

“First of all, I’m not in any position to get involved, because I’m not qualified at all. Make I no go talk the one wey go make people remember my own, con dey drag my head.

“This new year 2025, wey we just enter, I’m just trying to have undraggable year. Please, don’t push me.”
