The outgoing governor of Lagos State, Mr Akinwunmi Ambode, has congratulated the Ekiti State Governor, Dr Kayode Fayemi, for his emergence as the chairman of the Nigeria Governors’ Forum.

Ambode also congratulated Governor Atiku Bagudu of Kebbi State for his emergence as the chairman of Progressives Governors’ Forum.

While describing their selection as well-deserved and a positive sign for the country, the Lagos State number one urged other state governors to support the two leaders and work together for the greater interest of the country.

A statement signed by his Chief Press Secretary, Habib Aruna, quoted the governor as saying, “Their emergence came at a time when our democracy needs men with proven track record of progressive leadership and experience.

“Dr Fayemi is a technocrat and development expert with vast wealth of experience over the years and I’m confident that he will galvanise the NGF to work with President Muhammadu Buhari to take the nation to the next level.’’
