Nigeria’s 2025 Africa Cup of Nations qualification campaign concluded with a shocking 2-1 loss to Rwanda.
The game was played at the Godswill Akpabio International Stadium in Uyo.
The Super Eagles came into the game already qualified for next year’s tournament as Group D winners.
The three-time African champions took the lead in the 59th minute with a stunning solo goal from Samuel Chukwueze.
However, Rwanda responded with two quick goals from Ange Mutsinzi and Innocent Nshuti, securing their first victory over Nigeria.
This is the first defeat under interim manager Augustine Eguavoen, who may be stepping down from the position.
