Super Eagles striker, Victor Osimhen, has said it is no problem for him wether he scores or not at the ongoing Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, in Ivory Coast.

The Napoli forward said he is placing the Super Eagles’ success above personal glory at the tournament.

Osimhen has managed to find the back of the net just once in five games in Ivory Coast.

He finished top scorer in the 2023 Africa Cup of Nations qualifiers and is currently the African Footballer of the Year.

The Napoli front man has tormented opposition defenders with his work rate and physicality but threw away chances.

Osimhen spoke to beIN Sports after Nigeria’s win against Angola.

“I dream of winning the title. The last time was in 2013. I am very happy to win and qualify for the semi-finals,” he said.

“We are all in a positive mental state, and coach Jose Peseiro also has an excellent outlook on the team’s project.

“I have the mentality that if I do not score, I will go back to defending, and if I score a goal, I will also go back to defending this goal.

“Even if we are late, we must continue to believe in ourselves. I am very lucky to be with the Super Eagles.

“It has been my dream since childhood, and we must take advantage of this start to reach the final.”

Fenerbahçe manager, José Mourinho, has spoken about his relationship with Manchester United co-owner, Sir Jim Ratcliffe, and their manager, Rúben Amorim.

Mourinho, who won three trophies while at Old Trafford between 2016 and 2018, revealed he has a “good relationship” with Ratcliffe.

In 2018, Amorim visited United for a week-long internship under Mourinho.

Amorim replaced Erik ten Hag in November and has won just 11 of his 24 matches with the Red Devils.

“He’s a good kid,” Mourinho told Sky Sports about Amorim.

“Always very respectful to me. We had a good relationship for a few years. He knows I wish him well.”

Mourinho also spoke about Ratcliffe, who is overseeing a cost-cutting exercise that has led to 250 job losses, including some long-serving members of staff.

United recently revealed that up to 200 more jobs are at risk in a fresh round of cuts.

“To be honest, I don’t know much about what’s happening,” Mourinho said.

“I know Sir Jim Ratcliffe. I’m not saying we are big friends, but we have a good relationship.
