President Tinubu Arrives Kenya For Africa Forward Summit

President Bola Tinubu has arrived in Nairobi, Kenya, to participate in the Africa Forward Summit, a high-level meeting co-hosted by Kenyan President William Ruto and French President Emmanuel Macron.

Tinubu touched down at the Jomo Kenyatta International Airport in the early hours of Monday and was received by Musalia Mudavadi, Kenya’s cabinet secretary for foreign and diaspora affairs; Isaac Parashina, Kenya’s high commissioner to Nigeria; alongside senior Kenyan government officials and members of Nigeria’s diplomatic mission in Kenya.

The summit is expected to bring together African heads of state, policymakers, business leaders, development partners, and other stakeholders to deliberate on strategies for economic transformation, trade expansion, digital innovation, infrastructure development, climate resilience, and shared prosperity across the continent.

In a statement issued by presidential spokesperson Bayo Onanuga, the President is expected to engage in high-level bilateral and multilateral discussions aimed at strengthening Nigeria’s diplomatic and economic ties with other African nations while reaffirming the country’s leadership role in shaping Africa’s future.

According to Onanuga, Tinubu’s participation underscores the administration’s commitment to promoting African-led solutions to continental challenges and advancing the Renewed Hope Agenda through strategic international engagement.

The President is accompanied by several top government officials, including Bianca Ojukwu, minister of foreign affairs; Abubakar Kyari, minister of agriculture and food security; Adegboyega Oyetola, minister of marine and blue economy; Balarabe Lawal, minister of environment; Jumoke Oduwole, minister of industry, trade and investment; and Bosun Tijani, minister of communications, innovation and digital economy.

Other members of the delegation include Aisha Rimi, chief executive officer of the Nigerian Investment Promotion Council (NIPC); Sola Enikanolaiye, minister of state designate for foreign affairs; Omotenioye Majekodunmi, director-general of the National Council on Climate Change (NCCC); and Ayodele Oke, Nigeria’s ambassador to France.
