His Excellency
Governor Biodun Abayomi Oyebanji
Executive Governor of Ekiti State

Your Excellency,

Appeal to Ekiti State Government to Fix Collapsing Roads

I write as a concerned Ekiti out of deep concern for the growing state of disrepair of major roads across Ekiti State — roads that are vital for daily life, economic activity, and inter-state connectivity, but have now become dangerous, unpassable, and a threat to lives and livelihoods.

I want to specifically draw attention to the Ado–Itawure Road, Ado–Ijan Road, and other connecting routes, which are in deplorable and worsening condition. These roads are not only lifelines to several communities within Ekiti State but also serve as crucial links to neighboring states.

Traders, students, civil servants, farmers, and emergency services all depend on these routes — and yet today, they are either avoided entirely or endured with serious risk.

I acknowledge that some of these roads may fall under the jurisdiction of the Federal Government, but that notwithstanding, your people and my people are the ones using them and not the federal government, I believe — and history has shown — that when leadership rises to the moment, progress can be made, regardless of the boundaries of jurisdiction.

I therefore appeal to you our own Executive Governor of the Fountain of Knowledge (Ekiti State), to rise to this urgent challenge by intervening directly or partnering with relevant authorities to commence immediate rehabilitation of these roads.

Our people are suffering, and every day of inaction leads to more hardship and economic setbacks.
I urge the Governor to take inspiration from the efforts of the Governor of Osun State, who has embarked on the simultaneous construction and rehabilitation of several roads, some of which also fall under Federal oversight. That is leadership.

It is not enough to wait for Federal allocation or approval while citizens languish. The roads belong to the federal government, yes — but they are used daily by Ekiti people, and the pain of neglect is felt most by the people of this state.
This is not a political matter. It is a matter of duty, governance, and compassion.

We strongly believe that the intervention of the state government in fixing these roads will not only improve transportation and safety but also restore confidence in the responsiveness of the government to the needs of the people.

In conclusion, I appeal to the Governor of Ekiti State to prioritize the repair of the affected roads without further delay. We believe that this administration, known for its commitment to development, will take decisive action.
Thank you, and may God bless Ekiti State and the Federal Republic of Nigeria.
